The Museo Egizio in Turin sells its tickets only online, at €18 full in 2026, and there is no ticket desk at the door to fall back on.

## No ticket desk, so buy before you arrive

Tickets for the Museo Egizio are sold exclusively online, and there is no box office on site (2026). If you walk up without one, you don't get in.

The full ticket is €18. The reduced rate of €15 covers over-70s and journalists, students aged 15 to 18 and university students pay €3, and children aged 6 to 14 pay €1. All prices are in euros.

Under-6s, visitors with a disability and their companion, and ICOM members go free.

## The family ticket saves €2, or nothing

A family of 2 adults and 2 children pays €36, which is exactly the price of two full tickets.

Bought one by one, the same family with children aged 6 to 14 would pay €38, so the family ticket saves €2. With children under 6 it saves nothing at all, because they're free either way.

## Monday: 9 am to 2 pm, last entry at 1 pm

On Monday the museum closes at 2 pm, and because last entry is one hour before closing, the last Monday admission is at 1 pm (13:00 in Italian listings).

The rest of the week is longer. Tuesday to Friday and Sunday run 9 am to 6:30 pm, with last entry at 5:30 pm. There is no weekly closing day.

A Monday afternoon visit has to start by 1 pm. Anything later belongs on another day.

## Saturday runs to 8 pm

Saturday is the long day: 9 am to 8 pm, with last entry at 7 pm (2026).

That's the only day you can still walk in after 6 pm. For a traveler arriving in Turin on a Saturday afternoon train, it turns the Egizio from a next-day plan into a same-day one.

## Three museums, three different short days

Turin's three big museums lose time on three different days: the Musei Reali close on Wednesday, the cinema museum in the Mole Antonelliana closes on Tuesday, and the Museo Egizio never closes but stops at 2 pm on Monday (2026).

The Musei Reali open Thursday to Tuesday, 9 am to 7 pm, last entry 6 pm. The Mole's museum opens Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 9 am to 7 pm.

Put the Egizio on Tuesday or Wednesday, when one of the other two is shut anyway, and keep Monday for the [Musei Reali](/attractions/musei-reali-torino) or the [Mole Antonelliana](/attractions/mole-antonelliana).

## 1,036,689 visitors in 2024

The Museo Egizio counted 1,036,689 visitors in 2024, seventh in the Ministry of Culture ranking of paid state cultural sites, where it's listed under the foundation that runs it.

Only six sites drew more: the Colosseum, the Uffizi, Pompeii, the Pantheon, the Accademia in Florence and Castel Sant'Angelo. The [Reggia di Caserta](/attractions/reggia-di-caserta) came next, in eighth.

You'll often read that this is the second most important Egyptian collection in the world. That ranking isn't among the figures verified for this page, so it's left as a claim you'll meet elsewhere. For the rest of the city, see [Turin](/towns/torino).

## FAQ

### Can you buy Museo Egizio tickets at the door?

No. The Museo Egizio sells tickets exclusively online and there's no ticket desk on site (2026). A full ticket costs €18 and the reduced one €15, for over-70s and journalists. Buy before you walk over, even if that means buying on your phone outside.

### What time does the Museo Egizio close on Monday?

2 pm. Monday is the short day, 9 am to 2 pm with last entry at 1 pm. Tuesday to Friday and Sunday it runs 9 am to 6:30 pm, and Saturday until 8 pm (2026).

### Is the Museo Egizio closed one day a week?

No, it opens all seven days, which sets it apart in Turin: the Musei Reali close on Wednesday and the cinema museum in the Mole Antonelliana on Tuesday. The Egizio's only short day is Monday, when it shuts at 2 pm (2026).

### How much is the family ticket at the Museo Egizio?

€36 for 2 adults and 2 children (2026). With children aged 6 to 14, whose single ticket is €1, that saves €2 against four separate tickets. Under-6s enter free anyway, so with small children the family ticket saves nothing.

### How busy is the Museo Egizio?

It recorded 1,036,689 visitors in 2024, seventh among Italy's paid state cultural sites in the Ministry of Culture ranking, one place ahead of the Reggia di Caserta. Only the Colosseum, the Uffizi, Pompeii, the Pantheon, the Accademia and Castel Sant'Angelo drew more.
