The Torre del Mangia can't be booked online: tickets are sold only on the day, at the Museo Civico and Santa Maria della Scala ticket offices, and each climb takes 25 people, leaving every 45 minutes.

## Two tickets in one building

The Museo Civico and the Torre del Mangia share the Palazzo Pubblico but not a ticket: each costs €10 on its own (2026).

The access rules differ too. The museum can be booked in advance; the tower can't. That difference decides the order of your morning.

## The tower: same day, 25 people, every 45 minutes

Tower tickets are sold only at the ticket offices of the Museo Civico and Santa Maria della Scala, only on the day of the climb, and each climb takes a maximum of 25 people, every 45 minutes.

Tickets sell out. Buy the tower first, as soon as you reach Siena, then fit the museum and the rest of the town around the time printed on it.

A family ticket for the tower costs €25.

## Booking the museum costs €1 more

Booking the Museo Civico raises the price from €10 to €11.

Most travelers assume advance booking is the cheap route. Here it's a €1 surcharge for a guaranteed slot, the same inversion the Uffizi runs in Florence. The reduced ticket is €9 and a family ticket €22.

## At Santa Maria della Scala, booking saves €1

At Santa Maria della Scala, Piazza Duomo 1, it works the other way: €9 at the door, €8 booked ahead, €7 reduced and €20 for a family (2026).

From March 15 to October 31 it opens every day, 10 am to 7 pm. From November 1 to March 14 it closes on Tuesday, and on weekdays it shuts at 5 pm.

## Combined tickets: €14, €15 and €20

The Museo Civico with Santa Maria della Scala costs €14 and is valid for 2 days; the Museo Civico with the tower costs €15; and all three together cost €20, or €40 for a family.

Bought one by one, the three would come to €29 at the desk. If you're climbing the tower anyway, the €20 ticket is the obvious one, as long as you remember the tower part still follows the same-day rule.

## Who goes free

Residents of the Comune di Siena and children under 11 enter the Museo Civico free, along with public school groups, licensed tourist guides, and visitors with a disability and their companion.

All prices here are in euros and were checked for 2026.

## Opening hours: not verified here
