Prices are in euros. It runs 72 hours from first entry and admits you to Villa Adriana, Villa d'Este and the Sanctuary of Hercules the Victor. 72 hours is generous for a pass of this kind. It turns Tivoli from a rushed day out of Rome into two half days, which is closer to what the two sites actually need. ## The annual card at €40 The second title is VILLÆ 365, at €40, or €10 for 18 to 25s, valid 12 months from first use and issued in your name. The gap between the two is €10. Anyone coming back to Tivoli even once in the year, or anyone staying nearby for a week, is better off with the annual card than with the 72-hour pass. ## Villa d'Este opens at 2 pm on Monday On Mondays Villa d'Este opens at 2 pm and not in the morning, against 8:30 am on every other day. Closing moves with the season, from 5 pm in winter to 7:30 pm in summer, and the villa shuts on January 1 and December 25 (2026). That Monday rule is the one that ruins day trips from Rome. A Monday morning train to Tivoli buys you a garden with a locked gate until the afternoon. ## The 5 free dates at Villa d'Este Entry costs nothing on the first Sunday of every month, on April 25, June 2 and November 4, and on March 8 for women. Those are the dates published by the institute itself. Free days at a site with famous fountains are the fullest days of the calendar, which is a reason to choose them deliberately rather than by accident. ## Villa Adriana: 120 hectares, 40 of them open Hadrian built the villa between 118 and 138 AD and it covered at least 120 hectares, of which 40 are open to visitors today. It went onto the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999.
