> Children under 8 cannot climb the Leaning Tower at any price, and the ticket is 20 euros with no reductions. The other monuments run on year long tickets.

Children under 8 are not allowed up the Leaning Tower at any price, and the ticket costs €20 with no reduction for anyone, which is the pair of facts that reorganizes a family trip to Pisa.

## The age limit is a ban, not a suggestion

The tower turns away anyone under 8, counted as ages reached or to be reached within the current year, on safety grounds. Between 8 and 12 a child has to be held by the hand of an adult for the entire visit, and every visitor under 18 must be accompanied.

Staff can ask for a document proving age at the entrance. The climb itself lasts about half an hour and is not advised for anyone with heart, circulatory or mobility conditions: the stairs are narrow, worn smooth and tilted. Read [nobody under eight climbs the tower](/stories/nobody-under-eight-climbs-the-tower).

## €20, flat, for everyone who is allowed up

The Opera della Primaziale Pisana charges €20 for the tower in 2026 and grants no reductions at all, including for children, students and school parties. Prices in euros.

The single exception is free admission for a disabled visitor with their companion, which has to be booked by email to accessibility@opapisa.it at least 5 days in advance and is offered only in limited windows: before 10:00 am, and after 6:00 pm, 5:00 pm or 4:00 pm depending on the closing time of the day. The ticket is timed, with the slot chosen when you buy.

## Two kinds of ticket in one square

The other 4 monuments work on a different logic: the baptistery, the Camposanto, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie sell tickets valid for a full year from the date you pick, with no time slot at all.

That difference is worth using. Book the tower slot first, since it is the only fixed appointment, then fill the hours around it in any order. Entry to every monument closes 30 minutes before the doors do. See [the cathedral of Pisa](/attractions/duomo-di-pisa).

## From the station, and from the airport

From Pisa Centrale, Line 1+ leaves the Stazione 1 stop toward Park Pietrasantina every 10 minutes and puts you off at Torre 1. Line 4 leaves from Stazione 8 every 20 minutes for Del Parlascio, and the night service, Line 21, runs from Stazione 5 every 30 minutes to Torre 1.

From the Sesta Porta coach station, lines 60, 70, 80, 120 and 130 all reach Torre 1. If you land at Galileo Galilei, take the PisaMover to Pisa Centrale and pick up one of those city buses. See [getting to Pisa](/towns/pisa/getting-there).

## Summer 2026 evenings, and two free nights

From June 17 to August 31, 2026 the monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli stay open until 10:30 pm, with the Camposanto running to 10:00 pm. Anyone buying a tower ticket from 7:30 pm onward gets a free Camposanto ticket with no time slot attached.

There are also two free evenings, on July 24 and August 9, 2026, from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm at the baptistery, the Camposanto, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie, with compulsory booking on scopripisa.it. The Camposanto is free again on November 1 and 2. Evening light on that marble is the reason to reorganize a day around these dates. See [Tuscany](/regions/toscana).

## FAQ

### Can a 6 year old climb the Leaning Tower?

No. The minimum age is 8, counted as reached or reachable within the current year, and it is a safety ban rather than advice. Ages 8 to 12 must be held by the hand of an adult for the whole climb, and every visitor under 18 has to be accompanied.

### Is there a child price for the Leaning Tower?

No. The climb costs €20 in 2026 with no reduction of any kind, not for children, students or school groups. The only free admission is for a disabled visitor with a companion, booked by email at least 5 days ahead and only in limited time slots.

### How long is a ticket for the other Pisa monuments valid?

A whole year from the date you choose, with no time slot, for the baptistery, the Camposanto, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie. Only the tower ticket is timed. Entry closes 30 minutes before each monument shuts.

### How do you get from Pisa station to the Leaning Tower?

Bus. From Stazione 1 take Line 1+ toward Park Pietrasantina every 10 minutes and get off at Torre 1, or take Line 4 every 20 minutes to Del Parlascio. At night Line 21 runs every 30 minutes. From the airport, take the PisaMover to Pisa Centrale first.

### Is the Piazza dei Miracoli open in the evening in summer?

Yes, from June 17 to August 31, 2026 the monuments stay open until 10:30 pm, with the Camposanto open until 10:00 pm. Buy a tower ticket from 7:30 pm onward and you get a free, undated Camposanto ticket with it.
