MyItalia

About this site, and how the numbers work

myitalia is published by RankWit S.r.l. Società Benefit, a private company in Aci Castello, Sicily, and it covers Italy in its 21 NUTS2 units, from Veneto down to Molise and its 456,284 overnight stays in 2024.

The perimeter, stated once

The site covers the 21 NUTS2 units of Italy: the 20 regions, with Trentino-Alto Adige counted as the autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento, exactly as the statistics that feed these pages count them. Three places that sit inside or beside the peninsula are outside that perimeter and stay outside: San Marino, Vatican City and the Swiss canton of Ticino.

Together those 21 units recorded 466,158,045 overnight stays in 2024. Molise, the smallest, took 456,284 of them, which is 0.10% of the country. Both ends of that range get a page here, and the small end gets the same treatment as the large one.

How a number gets onto a page

Every figure in the text carries the id of one fact, and that fact carries its source, its confidence rating and the date it must be rechecked. Confidence is not a feeling: high means a primary source plus an independent confirmation, medium means one primary source, low means one secondary source.

Low facts never go on a page, not even softened with a maybe. When a page needs a figure the ledger does not have, the sentence says so and names the office that holds it, because a stated gap is more useful than a confident guess.

Where institutional sources disagree, we publish the disagreement instead of picking a winner. Year-on-year comparisons stop at 2024, because the national statistics office widened the perimeter of the survey in 2025 and the jump that produced is not growth.

The rule we will not break

There is no page here on the requirements for citizenship by descent, and that is a decision rather than a gap. The law on that has changed twice since 2025 and is still moving through the courts, and a wrong page on the subject damages people who are making family decisions on it.

So the roots pages tell you how to reach a small comune without a car, what the town hall hours are, and where the parish records physically sit. Anything about status belongs to your consulate, with a date on it.

Corrections

Corrections go to info@rankwit.ai, and there is no editorial queue in between: we check the source, correct the fact and change the date the page carries. If a figure here is out of date, that is a defect in the ledger and we would rather hear about it than not.

FAQ

Who publishes myitalia?

RankWit S.r.l. Società Benefit, based at Piazza delle Scuole 6, 95021 Aci Castello, in the province of Catania, Sicily. VAT number IT06209300877. It is a private company, not a public tourist board, and it has no mandate from any Italian region.

What does this site cover?

Italy in its 21 NUTS2 statistical units, which is the 20 regions with Trentino-Alto Adige counted as the two autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento. San Marino, Vatican City and the Swiss canton of Ticino are outside the perimeter and stay out.

How do I know a number here is right?

Every figure resolves to one entry in our fact ledger, with its source, a confidence rating and the date it has to be rechecked. Facts we could only confirm from a single secondary source are rated low and never reach a published page.

Do you write about Italian citizenship by descent?

No, and that is a rule, not an omission. The law is moving, and a page that is out of date on eligibility does real harm to real families. We write about the trip: how to reach the town, what is open, what it costs. For status, ask your consulate.
