The Neapolis archaeological park in Siracusa costs €14 full and €7 reduced, and although the gates stay open until 7:40 pm, the ticket office stops selling at 6:30 pm (2026).
€14, and a second price you may see
The regional operator charges €14 full and €7 reduced, and sells online through TicketOne (2026). Those figures are in euros and come from the Parco archeologico di Siracusa, Eloro, Villa del Tellaro e Akrai, which is run by the Sicilian Region.
The city of Siracusa's own page gives €16.501 and €9.751. The likeliest explanation is presale fees or a combined ticket, and the operator's €14 is the one to go by.
70 minutes between the last ticket and closing
Tickets stop at 6:30 pm, 70 minutes before the park closes at 7:40 pm (18:30 and 19:40 on the signs).
Those were the hours the regional portal published for July, and they shift with the season. The winter hours aren't among the verified figures, so check before you set out.
The gap is still worth knowing: a ticket bought just before 6:30 pm gives you 70 minutes inside, enough for the theater and the Ear of Dionysius.
240,000 square meters and seven monuments
The park covers 240,0002 square meters in the north of the city and holds the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater, the Altar of Hieron II, the Latomia del Paradiso with the Ear of Dionysius and the Grotta dei Cordari, and the so-called Tomb of Archimedes.
The Greek Theater as you see it dates from the 3rd century BC, built on a 5th-century BC original. The "Tomb of Archimedes" is a name, not an attribution.
A guided visit of the whole park takes 2 hours.
The theater has a spring season
From April 13 to June 28, 2026 the Greek Theater hosted the 61st season of classical plays staged by the INDA foundation: Alcestis, Antigone, The Persians and the Iliad.
The 62nd season, in 2027, is announced with Trojan Women, Philoctetes, The Birds and Ulisse, l'ultima Odissea. Performances start at 7 pm in May and 7:30 pm in June, and the INDA box office answers on 09314 4872484.
Exact dates for each title haven't been published in a readable form yet. See the INDA season for what's confirmed.
What the Neapolis ticket doesn't cover
The Neapolis ticket does not cover everything the park runs: Akrai, at Palazzolo Acreide, and the Villa del Tellaro are separate sites, both open 8:30 am to 7:30 pm with ticket sales until 7 pm (September 2026).
Palazzo Cappellani opens Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 am to 7:30 pm and Sunday 8:30 am to 1:45 pm, and is closed on Monday.
The Castello Eurialo is listed as closed on the regional portal, while the Neapolis ticket page still names it as included. The two official pages contradict each other, and the closure is the safer assumption.
