The Valle dei Templi in Agrigento opens every day from 8:30 am to 8 pm, and until September 20, 2026 it stays open until 11 pm on weekdays and until midnight on public holidays.
8:30 am to 8 pm, last entry at 7
The park opens every day from 8:30 am to 8 pm, with last entry at 7 pm (08:30, 20:00 and 19:00 on Italian signs).
That's the ordinary timetable, the one that applies outside the summer evening season, from September 21 to June 19.
The evening season ends September 20
From June 20 to September 20, 2026 the park runs until 11 pm on weekdays, with last entry at 10 pm, and until midnight on public holidays, with last entry at 11 pm.
The park also publishes an 8:30 am to 11 pm timetable on a different page of its own site, and the two versions sit side by side. The weekday and holiday split above is the more detailed of the two.
The evening visit is the reason to come to Agrigento in summer. The temples after dark, with the day's heat gone, are a different visit from the same temples at noon.
Free first Sundays, until 7 pm only
On the first Sunday of the month entry is free until 7 pm, and from 8 pm the evening visit is paid again.
In summer 2026 those Sundays were July 5, August 2 and September 6. If you're there on a free Sunday in the evening season, the daytime visit costs nothing and the evening one doesn't.
About 1,300 hectares, and no walking distance
The park covers about 1,3002 hectares, which puts it among the largest archaeological complexes in the world, though not, on any official page, the largest.
That superlative is repeated everywhere, and neither the Ministry of Culture nor the park itself makes it. What neither publishes either is the walking distance between the temples, which is the number a visitor actually needs.
Plan for a long walk, and carry water.
Akragas, founded about 582 BC
The ruins are those of Akragas, founded about 5822 BC by Greek colonists from Gela and Rhodes, set in farmland of old olive and almond trees.
The area has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1997. The park's full name, Parco archeologico e paesaggistico, puts the landscape on the same footing as the ruins.
The ticket price isn't verified here
The ticket price is not published among the figures verified for this page, and no number is printed rather than a stale one.
Buy from the park's own channel and check any reseller's price against it; the risks of lookalike ticket sites are covered on official sites and lookalikes.
For the rest of the island, see UNESCO sites in Sicily, Segesta and Selinunte, the Villa Romana del Casale and Sicily.
