Four Sardinian beaches cap the number of people who may arrive, and each one uses a different portal, a different booking window and a different fee: La Pelosa, Tuerredda, Cala Goloritze and Cala Mariolu.
La Pelosa: 1,500 a day, and one legitimate portal
Access to La Pelosa at Stintino is capped at 1,5001 people a day from May 15 to October 15, 2026, with compulsory booking on spiaggialapelosa.it, the only authorized portal, and a fee of €3.50 per person.
The release mechanism is unusual and worth knowing: 5001 places can be booked at any point in the season, while 1,0001 are released two days beforehand at 9:00 am. Children under 12 do not book and do not pay, a maximum of 4 places can be reserved at once, and the QR code is checked between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
On the sand there are rules with the same force as the cap. No towel without a mat underneath it, no smoking, no dogs, no detergents, and no taking sand or shells away. The portal itself warns that fraudulent sites resell access to this beach, which is the reason the domain name is printed here.
Tuerredda: 1,100 a day, booked the day before
Tuerredda, in the comune of Teulada, runs a cap of 1,1003 places a day from June 2 to October 15, 2026, with a fee of €3.00 per person, booked on spiaggiatuerredda.it.
Bookings open at 8:00 am on the day before, which makes this the most short notice of the four systems and the least suited to a fixed itinerary. Minors do not book, and the QR code is checked between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
The organizer is the comune of Teulada itself, through its general affairs office, so the ordinance and the booking system come from the same hand. That is a single primary source, and it is the strongest chain of the four.
Cala Goloritze: 250 at a time, and no boats
Cala Goloritze, in the comune of Baunei, admits 2504 people at once, with compulsory booking on the Heart of Sardinia platform, which opens three days before at midnight. The ticket costs €7.00 and is free for under 5s and for residents of Baunei.
You arrive on foot or you do not arrive: landing on the beach from a boat is forbidden. The path is 3.6 kilometers long with around 5001 meters of height difference, an hour and a half going down and around two hours coming back up. Two time bands are sold, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm for the full day and 12:00 to 5:00 pm for the afternoon.
That combination, 2504 people at a time and a two hour climb out, is the strictest regime of the four and the one that most changes what the beach feels like. Baunei has capped this cove since 2020.
Cala Mariolu: the fee only applies from the sea
At Cala Mariolu, also in Baunei, 7005 sea landings a day are allowed from May 1 to October 20, 2026, at €2.00 for a single cove or €3.00 for an itinerary taking in several, booked by 7:00 am on the day itself on Heart of Sardinia.
The obligation applies only to people landing from the sea. Anyone arriving overland, where that is permitted, pays nothing and books nothing.
The same system covers Cala Luna, Cala Biriola, Cala dei Gabbiani and Su Sirboni. Its weak point is the source: only the platform operator publishes these terms, and the municipal ordinance behind them is not available on an openable page of the Baunei website.
What this page will not tell you
There is no published maximum for the other Sardinian beaches that circulate in the press with numbers attached. Those figures sit at low confidence in our data and low confidence facts do not go on a page here.
Four systems, four portals, four windows: nothing about one of them predicts another. La Pelosa releases two days ahead at 9:00 am, Tuerredda one day ahead at 8:00 am, Goloritze three days ahead at midnight, Mariolu by 7:00 am on the day.
Caps and fees are re-set every spring, so check each portal in the season you are traveling rather than trusting a page written in September. See crowds and caps and Sardinia.
