Genoa Aquarium: the price depends on where you buy

A fixed-date adult ticket bought online costs €26, the same ticket bought at the desk costs €34, and the Open Flexi that works on any day costs €38 (2026).

The €8 you pay for turning up without a ticket

Buying at Ponte Spinola instead of online costs €8 more per adult, €26 against €34 (2026). Prices are in euros throughout this page.

That difference is not a queue-jumping fee or a service charge. It is the same ticket for the same tank at a higher rate, and it is the one decision here that costs real money.

The Open Flexi at €38 buys something different: no fixed date. It is worth the €12 over the online rate only if your day in Genoa is still moving.

What everyone else pays

Children aged 4 to 12 start at €16, over 65s and visitors with a disability start at €20, and children up to 3 go free (2026).

The word "start" is doing work. The operator prices by date and by time slot, so a Saturday in August and a Tuesday in February are not the same ticket. Treat every figure here as the floor of a range.

Hours: 365 days, and a two-hour tail

The aquarium runs 9 am to 8 pm (09:00 to 20:00 on Italian signs) with last entry at 6 pm, every day of the year (2026).

Two neighbors on the same waterfront keep shorter days. The Città dei Bambini opens 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with last entry at 3:30 pm, and the Biosfera 10 am to 6 pm.

Read those three lines together before you plan a late afternoon. Arrive at 5 pm and the children's section has already stopped admitting.

12,000 square meters, and what that means for your legs

The exhibition space covers 12,000³ square meters and holds 400³ animal species and 200³ plant species.

That is the number to plan against. The two hours between last entry and closing are enough to walk it once without stopping, and not enough to stop.

The add-ons, priced separately

The AcquarioVillage package costs €51, the Biosfera €6 and the Bigo panoramic lift €6 (2026).

Each of those is a separate gate with its own hours, not a section of the aquarium you wander into. Decide before you buy, because the package only pays back if you use it.

Parking, and the numbers nobody publishes

The Porto Antico car park has 167³ spaces, at the aquarium's own address on Ponte Spinola.

Two figures you might expect are missing from the official pages we read: the number of tanks and the total volume of water. They are not published, so they are not printed here.

One more piece of honesty from the operator itself: individual tanks can be closed for maintenance on any given day, and part of the 2026 opening calendar was still marked as being updated when we checked. Check acquariodigenova.it for the date you are going.
