Cinque Terre Card 2026: what changed

For 2026 the Cinque Terre Card exists in two versions only, Treno and Trekking: the Plus category is gone, and access to the Via dell'Amore is included in both.

What the Treno Card carries

Unlimited 2nd class travel on the regional trains between La Spezia, the five villages and Levanto is the difference between the two cards, and it is the answer to getting around without a car.

The same card also covers the paid trails, the Via dell'Amore booking, the buses inside the villages, the guided visits of the Cinque Terre Walking Park, the station toilets and the park wifi hotspots.

Trains are the internal transport here. The road above the villages is not a shortcut and parking is not the plan.

Via dell'Amore: 10 euro more, and a booking

The path between Riomaggiore and Manarola costs 10 euro as a supplement on any Cinque Terre Card, and it cannot be walked without a reservation. Capacity is 400 people an hour, admitted in groups of 100 every 15 minutes; organized groups are capped at 30 people.

In high season the walk is one way, from Riomaggiore toward Manarola. Hours are 8:00 am to 7:00 pm from April 1 to October 31, with last entry at 6:30 pm, and 9:30 am to 5:00 pm from November 1 to March 31, with last entry at 4:30 pm.

Residents do not book. Everybody else does, and the path reopened in 2024 after more than ten years closed, which is why the queue of people who want it is longer than the capacity.

What the card costs in 2026

The Treno Card runs on dynamic pricing across three demand bands. Between 14 March and 1 November 2026 an adult day costs 22 to 35 euro, two days 36.50 to 61 euro, three days 49 to 81 euro. From 2 November the day rate drops to 17.30 euro, which is the cheapest the card gets all year.

The Trekking Card, for anyone not using the train, costs 10 euro a day in standard periods and 15 in high season, 17 and 26.70 for two days. It covers the paid trails, the Via dell'Amore, the internal buses and free entry to the CAMeC museum, and no trains at all.

Buy on card.parconazionale5terre.it. The band that applies on your date is shown at checkout, not published as a calendar.

Which trails are actually open

1 stretch of the Sentiero Verde Azzurro, Manarola to Corniglia, shows as closed, and trail status here changes with landslides and works rather than with the calendar. Check the day before you walk, not the month before.

The window when the card is compulsory is quoted by secondary sources as March 14 to November 2, 2026, with the trails free outside it. That window is not confirmed on the official page we read, so treat it as unverified and ask at the park desk in the station.

FAQ

What is the difference between the Treno and Trekking cards?

The Treno Card adds unlimited second class regional trains between La Spezia, the five villages and Levanto. Both versions cover the paid trails and both now include the Via dell'Amore. The Plus category no longer exists in 2026.

Do I need to book the Via dell'Amore?

Yes, and the booking is separate from the card: 10 euro on top of any Cinque Terre Card. Capacity is 400 people an hour, admitted in groups of 100 every 15 minutes, so the slots for a summer afternoon go early.

What are the Via dell'Amore opening hours?

From April 1 to October 31 it runs 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, last entry 6:30 pm. From November 1 to March 31 it runs 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, last entry 4:30 pm. In high season the path is one way, from Riomaggiore to Manarola.

How much does the Cinque Terre Card cost in 2026?

The park reorganized the card in March 2026 and the page we read does not list the new prices, so this site does not print a figure. Buy on card.parconazionale5terre.it, which is the park's own channel, and read the price there.

How do I get around the Cinque Terre without a car?

By regional train. The Treno Card covers unlimited 2nd class travel between La Spezia, the five villages and Levanto, plus the village buses, the paid trails, the Walking Park guided visits, station toilets and the park wifi.
