Opening hours: what we checked, and when

Every opening time on this site carries the date it was checked: the three below were verified on September 1, 2026 against the operator's own channel, and anything that could not be confirmed is marked rather than filled in.

Why the date beats the hour

Since 2012 the only obligation left to an Italian shop or restaurant is to display the hours it actually keeps, on a visible sign. That sign outranks every website, including the hours inside a map app, because nobody is obliged to keep those updated.

An hour without a date is a claim about the past presented as a fact about today. That is why this site prints the check date next to the number, and why the check date is the part worth trusting.

• Free entry at state museums. First Sunday of every month, no booking required at the sites verified, opening hours set site by site. Source: Ministry of Culture.

The Florence dome is the strictest slot in Italy

1 rule makes this the strictest slot in Italy: the dome booking cannot be changed or canceled, so a missed time is a lost ticket and no counter will fix it. Last entry is 6:45 pm from Monday to Friday and 4:30 pm on Saturday; on Sundays and public holidays the climb runs only between 12:45 pm and 4:30 pm.

You need the Brunelleschi Pass, and the dome closes for maintenance from November 16 to 20, 2026. The official FAQ sets no minimum age for the climb, which is a question the ticket page is asked constantly and answers by omission.

What "not published" means on this site

1 hour missing is better than 1 hour invented, so where a site has not released its winter times the gap stays visible here. An example is live right now: the Colosseum's summer closing time was ambiguous on the page checked on September 1, 2026, so it appears nowhere on these pages, and the ticket release page says so out loud.

The same rule applies to prices. A number that could not be confirmed on the operator's own page is described as unverified, not smoothed into a range.
