Infiorate: flower carpets in Spello and Genzano

Spello in Umbria and Genzano di Roma both lay flower carpets through their streets in June: Spello about a mile (1.5 km) of them for Corpus Domini, on June 6 and 7 in 2026, and Genzano for the 248²th time, from June 13 to 15, 2026, in a tradition dating to 1778².

Spello follows Corpus Domini

The Infiorate di Spello follow Corpus Domini, the ninth Sunday after Easter, so the date moves every year: in 2026 they fell on June 6 and 7. About a mile (1.5 km) of flower carpets covers the historic center.

The carpets go down overnight between Saturday and Sunday, the Notte dei Fiori, laid by the Associazione Le Infiorate di Spello. If you want to see them made rather than finished, the night is the event.

Nobody we read gives a first year for Spello's Infiorate, so we don't print one.

Genzano: 248 editions since 1778

Genzano di Roma's Infiorata goes back to 1778², and the 2026 edition, the 248²th, ran from June 13 to 15. The Comune di Genzano di Roma organizes it with the Accademia dei Maestri Infioratori.

A children's version comes first. The 22nd Infiorata dei Ragazzi was held on May 30 and 31, 2026, two weeks before the main one.

One June trip, two towns

In 2026 the two events were a week apart: Spello on June 6 and 7, Genzano from June 13 to 15. A single June trip covered both, one in Umbria and one in the province of Rome.

That spacing is a 2026 fact, not a rule. Spello's weekend depends on Easter, and neither town had published 2027 dates in the sources we read.
