Taormina's ancient theater: €14, free under 18

The Teatro Antico di Taormina costs €14 full and €7 reduced, is free for anyone under 18, and opens every day from 9 am to 7:45 pm with last entry at 7 pm (2026).

€14, €7, or free under 18

Anyone under 18 enters free, as do visitors with a disability and their companion; everyone else pays €14 full or €7 reduced (2026). The prices are in euros.

The under-18 rule is the generous one. A couple traveling with two teenagers pays €28 for the family, the same as two adults alone.

The theater is run by the Parco archeologico di Naxos e Taormina, which belongs to the Sicilian Region.

9 am to 7:45 pm, last entry at 7

The theater opens every day from 9 am to 7:45 pm, with last entry at 7 pm (19:00 on the gate).

That 45-minute margin is short. Arrive at 6:55 pm and you're inside for three quarters of an hour.

Summer evenings until midnight

On summer evening openings the theater stays open until midnight, with last entry at 11 pm (2026).

The dates change every summer and are posted one by one on the park's blog, not on a fixed calendar. Check the blog before you build an evening around it.

From Catania airport: a bus every 30 minutes

Interbus runs direct buses between Catania Fontanarossa airport and Taormina every 30 minutes (2026), and it's the most used way to reach Taormina without a car.

The same operator declares a direct airport service to Siracusa at the same frequency, which is useful if Taormina is one base and the Neapolis in Siracusa another.

What Interbus doesn't publish

Interbus does not publish timetables or fares for its lines: its site has no timetable pages, and the only way to the data is its journey planner (checked September 2, 2026).

The every-30-minutes figure comes from the operator's homepage, not from a timetable you can read. The fares you'll find online come from ticket aggregators, and none is repeated here.
