Venice Marco Polo: the 10 euro airport rule

Venice ACTV tickets do not cover trips to or from Marco Polo airport: you need an Aerobus ticket, 10.00 euro one way and 18.00 euro return, on lines 5, 15 and 45 (2026).

The exclusion that costs people money

An Aerobus ticket is valid 75 minutes and costs 10.00 euro; the return version costs 18.00 euro. For the same 18.00 euro you can buy the Aerobus combined with a 90-minute ticket on the rest of the network, which pays for the vaporetto you will take next.

Already holding a 1, 2, 3 or 7-day ticket? The airport add-on costs 7.00 euro one way and 13.00 euro return, and it has to be bought at the same time as the day ticket. Buy the pass first and the airport leg later, and that price is gone.

Marco Polo, in figures

Venice Tessera Marco Polo (IATA VCE, ICAO LIPZ) handled 11,850,336² passengers in 2025, 2.2% more than in 2024, sixth in the national ranking. The operator is SAVE.

Growth here was the slowest of the big northern airports that year. The airport sits on the lagoon edge at Tessera, on the mainland, which is why the last leg of the journey is a bus or a boat and never a walk.

Treviso: the other airport with the Venice name

Treviso "Antonio Canova" (IATA TSF, ICAO LIPH) recorded 3,200,130³ passengers in 2025, up 5.0%, 19th nationally. AerTre runs it.

Low cost carriers list it as Venice on the booking page. It is a different airport with a different transfer, so read the three letters before you pay.

If you already know you will use the network heavily, the 18.00 euro combined ticket on arrival is the version that avoids a second purchase in the hall.
